Chelsea Resting in her Office bed

No RV is yet in our grasp but the journey toward our dreams continues. Chelsea at age 13 shows us that she can handle whatever life throws at her. First she learned to walk politely on a leash (she is entitled to occasional lapses in memory), and now we know she can adapt to life on the road! What a trooper!

After only four encounters with life on the road Chelsea stopped panting and began enjoying the ride. She learned the routine, jumping into the van’s middle back seat, traveling silently (mostly), arriving at dog-friendly restaurants to party with us on their outdoor patios. She drank her water from a tall glass just as she does at home and astounded our servers with her skill and social manners. She ate her food with gusto. She visited with other diners to their surprise. She isn’t shy. She put her paws on one lady’s lap, uninvited, startling her momentarily. Praises and petting followed rewarding Chelsea for her friendly behavior.

How did all this come about? We had to leave home with our pet in tow so realtors could show our house to prospective buyers. Chelsea has developed two more new skills, riding in the van and dining at restaurants. Chelsea copes. We were concerned that she would not do well on the road. She will be fine.

    • I am glad, also. We were concerned that she might not adjust at her age of 13 years. She still acts like a puppy, but sometimes we are reminded that she is not. Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer. Blessings to you…

As long as she is with her family she will be fine.

    • I think that’s right, Patricia. She adapted to the restaurant trips quickly. About the time she was looking forward to the next party, the gig was over. Ha. But it will begin again in a slightly different forum. She will get more of our personal attention than before. Blessings to you…
