When a day rattles on and on
And nothing seems quite right
Every plan slips out of socket
And my hand gets stuck
In my pocket
I will remember
This is the day which
The LORD has made
I will rejoice and
Be glad in it

Romans 8:28-31 (The Bible) – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Psalm 118:14-24 (The Bible) -The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
I love how the plan “slips out of socket” -that’s exactly how it feels sometimes! Thanks for the wonderful reminder that this day is worth celebrating!

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. Frustrations can take away our peace of mind until we remember that there is some purpose we don’t understand that will bring us good ultimately. Maybe training us to be patient. Blessings to you…

I used to sing that song — still do! “This is the day (this is the day) that the Lord hath made (that the Lord hath made)”…etc.
π
it’s a great day–no matter what–when we hold God close…when we allow ourselves to be drawn close to His purposes and will for us…
beautiful, Carol Ann!

Amen for the ice cream cone. Do you remember your post on desserts first? My hubby and I went to McDonald. We always order quarter pounder meals, but I ordered a cheeseburg, small fry, and … ta da … a caramel frappe! It was delicious! Thank you for stopping by and for your cheerful comment. Blessings to you, Nancy…

As soon as I saw the ice cream cone, I wondered if you had dessert first.
Glad you enjoyed.

With so many calories, I should have had my caramel frappé instead of rather than along with my meal, but⦠I bought a smaller meal and ordered it instead of a soda. I enjoyed it immensely.

Andrea, I’m so sorry to hear that. My husband and I will remember your sister and you and your family in prayer. God loves your sister, and He is with her wherever she is. The things that hurt us that we don’t understand are the most difficult to trust God with, but it’s really all we can do. Blessings to you…
