This day wears on and finally ends
You are here with me
You never leave
Yesterday’s trial seems less
Troubling than it was or
Am I just tired
I think I spoke away the pain
Writing all the words
Now I see Jesus
Gazing at your face again
I know I’m safe with you
I’ll close my eyes
I’ll close my eyes and sleep awhile
You are here with me
You never leave
Never leave
What else matters

Just like the psalmist, in times of great trouble you are pouring out your heart in poetry. I wonder if it helped the psalmist to get through his trials.
Wishing your son freedom.

Thank you, Zoe. I love the Psalms because they let me see that I’m not alone in time of trouble, that David, the man after God’s heart, spent much time and effort calling for God to rescue him. Thank you for wishing my son freedom. You chose the right word. Freedom. Blessings to you…

Carol Ann–
your words speak to me of such exhaustion and weariness…and how we are renewed by changing our gaze and resting, falling into the promise of Jesus and His love for us…
that by just…giving up, we are actually giving ourselves back to The One.
beautiful.
also, I like the cat picture. 🙂
