Training – Will I Melt Down

Waiting on You – LORD –
I so often fail –
You are training me – LORD –
Am I learning it now –

Trouble comes – I see it
Just before it lands –
Fear not – Right-
Fear makes me pray –

Okay so far –
Then the test –
Will I trust and rest –
Or will I melt down –

Is melt down an overkill
Word – the word used
To tell of nuclear event –
Failure of containment –

Perhaps not – anyway –
LORD – You are faithful –
You forgive my lapse
And my collapse

Waiting on You – LORD –
I so often fail –
But You’re training me –
And I’m learning now –

Trouble with a capital T
Seems to follow me –
Jesus sets me free –
He always rescues me – *

(*Rescue may sometimes mean the Holy Spirit walks alongside to sustain and comfort during lengthy trial. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel Chapter 3) spent time in the furnace with Jesus. They were not burned, nor did their clothing smell like smoke. I’d say that they were rescued; even through they were first thrown into the furnace. Yes, like you, I’d rather avoid the furnace.)
