Bad Hair Day

I found this photo of a beautiful Nigella flower – Instantly I thought of having a bad hair day –

Oh blue hue – If I’d only look like you
When wind blows through my hair –
I’d never again care if my tresses blew
If I were as beautiful as you – blue hue

I wish everyone a pleasant weekend. I got my days mixed up and thought that this Sunday would be Easter.

Now my Easter post is up. I claim Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. God is good. Maybe the Lord wanted me to think about the resurrection and ascension early. Blessings to all…

  1. Ah, Carol – worry not! EVERY Sunday, indeed, EVERY MORNING is Easter morning since the very first one!

That is certainly an unusual flower. I have never seen one before. I’m always amazed at the depth of God’s creativity, the details and the vast variety. I thought your previous post was very timely, coming up to Palm Sunday, bringing the Light to begin the illumination of the week to come.

    • I’ve never seen a nigella flower other than this photo. It’s lovely even if it does look a little disheveled. Since it was created by God, I’m sure it’s beauty is organized chaos, which of course, isn’t chaos at all, but rather design. I think it’s beautiful.

Thank you for reminding me that Palm Sunday is this Sunday, and, as Paula points out, every Sunday is Easter since the first one. Blessings to you, Patti…

If it’s any consolation, I had thought that Easter was this weekend, too (it’s so late this year.) I liked the flower picture – that variety is one that I haven’t seen before, but I like the disheveled look 🙂

    • Yes, it is consolation that I am not alone in my mix-up. Thank you. Yes, Easter is late this year. I don’t remember Easter coming this late ever, but I’m sure it has. My memory fails me more than I can tell.

The flower is lovely. I have never seen one either. I found the photo in the Microsoft clip art collection. I’ve been saving it for a silly post for a while. Blue is my favorite color. Blue seems to be a calming color. Blessings to you, Janna…

It’s never to early to think about the resurrection. I read this from the Bible Gateway site this morning and it helped me to focus my thoughts.

“There is one way to God. Let things in your life that should die, die. Let strivings die, let legalism die, let love for the world die, let personal spiritual pride die. Resign it all, give it all over, let it be crucified as Jesus let himself be crucified, and then you will be free.

Then we will have something to boast about. We will brag about Jesus Christ. We will shout his name to the world around. We’ll fill up with a pride not in ourselves, but in him. And we will look at his cross and see it as a moment of glory, not of shame.

Ponder This: Are there things you have been boasting about in your life? What needs to happen for you to boast only of Christ?”

    Blessings to you Carol, Jeanne

    • Thank you for sharing the post on Bible Gateway. I use that site to search for the right Bible verses to use in my posts.

We truly have nothing to brag about. If we don’t know it yet, we will find it out eventually. I know it. God is good and all my successes I owe to Him. All my failures… I owe my survival after my failures to Him. Blessings to you, Jeanne…

      • I’m guessing that you have lots of strong, full-bodied hair that you wish would do something that it won’t do for you. I have delicate, wispy hair that I wish would resist static electricity and do what I want it to do. We are never satisfied with our own hair, are we? Women from India have beautiful hair. Blessings to you, Trisha…

This post made me smile in so many ways, Carol Ann. Love the idea of a flower having a “bad hair day.”

Nature does not ask, “what do they want me to be?” . . . It’s beauty lies in its authenticity.

Okay, I’m trying to make this work but honestly, you are right that God’s will prevails over ours and your post is needed now before the trillion Easter posts show up. There! 🙂

    • Oh! I like it! Thank you for your comment. I am a late bloomer in every aspect of my life. God apparently wanted His Word (I posted the actual Bible account) to be posted a week ahead. It’s funny that no sooner had I posted it than the thought came to my mind that it was early. Blessings to you, Elizabeth…

I think we all needed your Easter post up for an extra week so we could spend more time thinking about the meaning 🙂
Besides, you’re making me feel a whole lot better about my increased memory loss. Isn’t it scary how this season of our lives seems to blur one week into the next?

    • Thank you for your kind comment and for taking time to stop by. Time goes by SO fast; it seems to whiz past. Youth was a blink, but as I lived it, it seemed to last forever. My memory is a blink, too. A blink and a blank. Ha! What makes it all worthwhile is the gift of eternal life we have in Jesus and with Him. And it won’t be a whiz gone by. We’ll enjoy it forever. Blessings to you, JoDee…
