Tormented soul trodden down
Identity marred by wounds inflicted
Inflicted by one that should have loved you
Hope seems invisible – rage devouring
Shadow of life lingering
Crippled spirit
Hanging on
Sworn to

But near

I remember a little about Lent from my early childhood when my grandmother, who had me on weekends for a season, sent me to a Lutheran church across the street from her. I was invited by a friend to a Baptist church as a teen. What a sweet time to spend preparing our hearts to appreciate the Lord’s time of crisis on the cross bearing our sins. If it were not for my blogging experience, I’d have not heard about this period of time again and how Christians spend it expressing through thought and deed their devotion to the Lord. I know what you mean. It is so like us to want to celebrate when we should weep and weep when we should celebrate. Our humanity is so very real. Sweet Trisha. We can trust God to be just. Justice and truth God will always uphold. No one gets away with wrongdoing. There is a principle in life that God set in motion: We reap what we sow, later than we sow, and more than we sow. Evildoers reap a whirlwind crop they never expected. We can sow seed for good or for evil. All of us have dual crops, I’m sure, but this is a principle that prevails on earth. Those whose sins are forgiven may reap sorrow on this earth, but in eternity all sorrows will be wiped away for the children of God, because Jesus bore our grief and carried our sorrow to the cross. Very good message, Carol. Asaph wrote in Psalm 73 about how it seemed that his enemies succeeded and the wicked prospered but then he said:, ” When I tried to understand all this it was oppressive to me till I entered the sactuary of God; then I understood their final destiny”. The truth is that God never forgets a wrong done to you but it is up to him to deal with it as he sees fit. I try to remember that he did not turn me into dust when I hurt others but gave me grace to repent. Those who cannot let go of their anger towards someone’s wrongdoing to them must keep in mind that to do so takes from glorifying God who has done so much for us!
