Come Away

Who is God if not you LORD
Who but you promises life
And gives it

Who creates a spinning universe
So vast that no one can take it in –
And rules it

Who harnesses the thunder
Tears great kingdoms asunder
Who stops death

Who asks – Is there anything too hard
For the LORD – and proves that
Nothing is

Who makes my heart sing but you
LORD – you are the one – the famous one
Only you

Whose voice is like yours – You say –
Rise up – my love – my fair one – come away
Come away

Song of Solomon 2:13-14 – The Bible – The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice, for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

Genesis 1:1 – The Bible – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 18:14 – The Bible – Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Psalm 77:14 – The Bible – Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled. The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad. The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook. Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known. Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Daniel 4:17 – The Bible – The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.

John 11:41-44 – The Bible – Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

    • Good morning, Trisha. (Not sure what time it is where you are, but it’s morning here.) Thank you for your sweet comment. And, yes, I know it’s true. And God makes many wonderful promises, and I want to be the recipient of all the promises of good things written in the Bible for me and you, because they are all precious as is the LORD who makes them. Blessings to you, always, Trisha…
