No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.
We wait in hope for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.

I am not the author of these words. I copied these verses from the Bible, which claims to be the Word of God. It is a fabulous book unmatched by any other. This is where I learned about Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who redeemed us with his own blood and came back to life after three days in the grave and now sits on the right hand of the Father on high. Your poems are beautiful and I enjoy them so much! Blessings to you, Trisha, and thank you for visiting.

I don’t think I read this Psalm before, or if I did my eyes skipped over it in passing. What a great highlight. Thank you.

Cool! Thank you for visiting and for your comments. Last night I opened the Bible in the Psalms and grabbed one quickly. There are a lot of psalms that we love and see more often. This one may not be as readily recognized, but it’s there and I posted it. Blessings to you on both of your blogs!

I like the Psalms, but I’m intimidated by the size of the book, so I don’t believe I’ve read it all the way through, even though I’ve read all the others at one point or another. ^^ My favorite book of the bible is Proverbs, though I like Ruth and Esther a lot too.
