About

About my blog:

Words from my heart.

About Me: (These are Pandemic days and under my chin is my mask ready to be pulled up.)

Steve and I will celebrate our 8th anniversary in June, 2021. Time flies. I have adapted my novel into a screenplay entitled Buddy for David. My pen name has changed from Carol Ann Hoel to Carol Ann Ritchey. My married name to Steve is very long and hard to pronounce, thus, my maiden name is now my pen name. We are still living in our motorhome but considering the possibility of owning a house again someday.

I’m now the “hat lady” because Rosacea makes sunshine my enemy.  My face breaks out if I am exposed to sun rays. Wearing a hat is just the first and most visible level of protection I employ. I often wear long sleeves, etc., anything to cover my skin from the rays of the sun. I hope this is temporary, although doctors say it is permanent. Nah.

God is good. I’ve learned, over many years, that trouble is temporary. Each morning is a new beginning, and each day that passes between trouble and joy is another sign that joy is coming. Never give up. God is faithful to perform His Word. He brings us out of trouble and into the light.

I got sort of pointed in the direction of your blog by way of another. I’m adding you to my blogroll, and hope, when you have tikme, that you will stop by mine! I am a rather long-winded, stream-of-consciousness writer, and can and do tend to go on and on…no matter! If you have time, great! Just drop me a comment and let me know you were there!

I too am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and I come in my own unique, imperfect package. My blog posts reflect that. Sometimes thoughtful, sometime humorous (at least to me – I find that I generally entertain myself more than anybody else!). One post (as I see that you are a caregiver) that you might relate to is found at:

I wish you the best, and I will enjoy getting to “know” you through your writing!

  22. My book is still a manuscript. It hasn’t been published and isn’t ready yet. Every time I think it’s ready, I learn that there are revisions that must be made. This last revelation requires edits that will take some time. Thank you for your interest. As soon as I complete it and begin pursuit of a publisher, I will revise my about page and promote it.

Hi Carol Ann — As you may remember, my mother has Alzheimer’s. I’m dedicating the month of January to writing about her and her dementia. If you’re interested in writing any posts that relate to the topics I’ve laid out, remembering your first husband and the struggles with his disease, I’d love to add a link to your posts on mine. Check out “A Month of Remembering” — it explains it. http://28daysatatime.wordpress.com/2013/12/27/january-2014-a-month-of-remembering/

    • Thank you for finding my blog. Losing loved ones and coping with Alzheimer’s are both difficult and heartbreaking. My heart goes out to you.

I went to your blog and see that you are a book reader and that you review books. Mine will be in print within a few weeks. The genre we picked is young adult, but there are five main characters, a family, 5-year-old, 8-year-old, mother, father, grandmother, and a sheriff. They are all traumatized by one event. I am hoping that the book will appeal to many readers. I read mostly mysteries, myself, but I have read many books that were not that. “Buddy for David” is my first, and perhaps only, book. I probably won’t write another unless this one gains a readership. Blessings to you, Jackie…

Thank you for sharing. I must say that your life has really changed for the better. Death is hard, and was not in God’s plan; still it happens. And, for me, being a believer in Christ: is a gas; is a blast; is a party that never ends! I always have an abundance of party hats to share when someone “joins our party!” Please have a blessed night, day or evening in Jesus.
