A Different Kind of Curtain Call – God Pulled Back the Curtain and I Saw What I Didn’t See Before – I Had Received What I said According to Mark 11:23-24 – Even When I Was Unaware of the Awesomeness of It – We Can Have What We Say Believing – Because of Jesus’ Redemptive Work on the Cross –

Red Theater CurtainAt the conclusion of a performance an audience showing extreme enthusiasm for the presentation may inspire a curtain call. The curtain opens again, exposing the leading actor, player, or artist, allowing spectators to offer yet another round of applause.

I’ve been studying healing in the Bible, and during these months, God has reminded me of past experiences in my life. As though pulling back the curtain He has shown me what I didn’t understand or recognize at the time. He has brought to my mind, one at a time, healing episodes, remembrances that I am naming curtain calls, our Faithful Lord being the performer worthy of my extreme applause.

Although I hesitate to make public my past infirmities, especially this one, I do it to praise the Lord for the truth of His promises. I’ve made a journal of these revelations and may share them one or two at a time.

This is the first: I experienced several hallucinations over a period of time beginning in about the year 1967. They did not come from God. In my opinion, the origin of them was most likely an evil spirit or maybe some unresolved disturbance buried in my sub conscience mind. I did not see a doctor, so no there was no diagnosis.

As I was about to drop off to sleep, I would see something startling that was not a dream. I would break free from it moments after it started. The first hallucination came as the appearance of man in a trench coat and a hat. He raised himself up at my bedside, looked at me as I looked at him, and then stood up and ran out the door. I could hear the sounds of his trench coat swishing as he ran.

I’d never had a hallucination before, so I thought there really was a man that got up and ran away. My husband finally convinced me it wasn’t real when he asked me what he looked like. I realized then that the man didn’t have a face, just a hat, a trench coat, and running feet, but no face, even though I’d look at his face. (Yes, that was a chilling moment for me.) Over a span of years I experienced several episodes, all different, some frightening, but none lengthy, and I knew they were not real.

However, one day I had one that frightened me so much that I said to the Lord in prayer, “Lord, I never want another hallucination for the rest of my life.” I thanked God right then and there for making sure I never would have another one, and I never did have another one. They stopped in about the year 1978. This is year 2014, so I’ve been free of those unwelcome visions for 36 years.

I received exactly what I said that day, just as promised in Mark 11:23-24. I prayed it, believed it, and received it. Yet at the time, I gave no thought to that verse or principle, because I had not understood the essence and truth of it at that time in my life. Having a relationship with the Lord and a strong desire, I spoke it, believed it, and received it. God answered my prayer of faith that day, and He healed me from that issue.

Mark 11:23-24 – The Bible (KJV) – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

    • I’m glad, too. I didn’t have them often, one or two in a year, and they didn’t make me feel scared UNTIL the last one. (The first one scared me but I did not expect to have a another one, and the last one, scared me.) After the last one, I felt altogether different about them. God is good. I believed he would not let another one happen to me and He didn’t. Thanks for your visit and comment. Blessings to you, Janna…
