All Steve’s projects went on hold for hip replacement surgery and time to heal. What projects?
1) Pool Recovery and Maintenance
2) Installation of flooring in hallways and kitchen
3) Yard work, which now includes removal of fallen cactus
The doctor gave Steve permission to begin a work schedule gradually, one hour a day, increasing the time by 30 minutes the next day. Each day that he adds work time, his doctor instructed him to consider how he feels after doing the work. If he feels well having worked the additional time, he may add another 30 minutes the next day.
Steve’s interpretation of what the doctor said is this: One hour on the yard, one hour on the flooring, and one hour on the pool, adding 30 minutes each day to each project. Yesterday he put in a nine hour day following the doctor’s orders (multiplied by three, duh). He was exhausted, but his hip did not hurt.
The good news is this: He feels fine. Steve is taking a day off today. We are going out with our friends for lunch. He rushed out to Lowe’s to purchase a saw this morning so that work on the cactus on Monday morning will not be impeded. Life is good. Steve is good. God is really good. Our provider, healer, Savior and Lord.
I’m glad to hear Steve is pretty much back to his former self, maybe even better with that new hip! Praise God!
