Contemplation – Meditation – A Place of Quiet Prayer –

Contemplation PlaceThis simple landscaped plot of ground not far from our home is my favorite place to relax after or before a walk. Sometimes I stop there to read or meditate and do not take a walk at all. I love to rest my mind and body here in this quiet place.

I will sit silently waiting. If there is some issue nagging me on the inside, it will surface during these still moments. When I begin focusing my thoughts on the Lord, He will nudge me in the heart, bringing the issue to the light. It could be something small, but it is the small foxes that spoil the vine, we read in Song of Solomon.

One by one, any issues that distract me from union with the Lord, I will give to Him. Now, Lord, I say, this is no longer my problem, because I’ve given it to you. I rest knowing that My Father in Heaven can handle anything, even if it involves getting me to do something. He can do that, too. But for the moment, I am free to worship and be thankful for all His love and attention.
