Resting in Times of Trial

During times of trial – LORD –
When help seems far away –
When the roaring of the lion  
Frightens me – and I need a place to rest –
You are here with me –
 
You hear me when I cry – LORD –
You speak Your words of comfort –
Yet I find myself running –
Times I should be resting in quiet expectation –
 You are here with me –
 
Why don’t you lift me out – LORD –
I know You can – but You don’t –
You say You have a purpose –
You tell me I can walk on the raging sea – if I want –
You are here with me –
 
I don’t want to walk on the sea –
Peace – be still – You say –
Rest in Me – I’m here –
I would carry you – if you’d wait for me – My Child –
Yes – You’re here with me –
 
I thank You – LORD – for Your presence
You are all I need –
Without You – I would die –
Only while I’m resting do I fully realize
You’re always here with me –

Isaiah 43:2 – The Bible (KJV) – When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Matthew 8:24-27 – The Bible (KJV) – And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.  But the men marveled, saying, what manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Matthew 14:24-31 – The Bible (KJV) – But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, it is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.  And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
