All Is Right – Almighty LORD GOD

Sitting by his bedside – watching
His labored breaths – my husband –
Beloved – enduring battered life –
Sleep his only respite – temporary –
Waking alone at night – struggling –
Pulling – lifting – reaching up
With all his might

Tears roll down my cheeks  –
Unrestrained groaning – then my plea –
Any time – LORD – You may say
Come up here with Me today –
But grant my husband life abundant
Here with me – I trust You – LORD –
That all is right

By Your stripes we were healed – LORD –
We are the righteousness of God
In Christ – My heart breaks – LORD –
To watch my precious husband fight
To breathe – to speak – to swallow food –
Please hear me as I pray
With all my might

His days are scrolling – my husband
Longs for You – Jesus – LORD –
He waits each day to hear Your call –
Come up here with Me – Johannes –
But not today – still waiting here –
With me – LORD – Show me
That all is right

Another day brings change again –
Alertness – strength – swallowing too –
What is this – Amazed I see –
My husband rallies once again –
You heard me – LORD – it seems –
Raise me up to meet the challenge –
I need Your might

Thank you for peace and quiet rest
Knowing You care – knowing
You reign and nothing’s too hard
For you – LORD – Champion –
Ruler of day and night – Keeper
Of the New Covenant – showing me
That all is right

What a powerful testimony to the Love of God in you Carol Ann. I think this is one of the most heart-breaking poems you’ve written. Thank you for sharing it with us and for being the beautiful Christian woman you are.

    • Thank you for your prayers, Elizabeth. God hears and answers. I live one day at a time. I am thankful for the blessings of today. My prayers will go up again tomorrow according to my hubby’s needs, and my own, and those of others I know about. May God bless you richly and heal your ears and anything connected to the hearing loss you’ve experienced. Blessings to you, dear friend…

    • You express perfectly what I tried to do, to draw you into the room with me. I feel isolated sometimes from being confined most of the time to this apartment, except for shopping for a few hours a week, always hurrying in to get back in time to attend properly to my hubby. Your special efforts are very much appreciated, Patti. Blessings to you…
