Born into our world
To fulfill the Father’s plan –
Son of God – body
And spirit of man
Willing – You came
To suffer and die
Smeared with our sin –
Cursed by our lies
Never a man suffered so
Detested – hated – maligned –
As Jesus – the Good Shepherd –
Healer – loving and kind
Angels begged to rescue –
But watched instead –
As the Darling of Heaven
Writhed in pain until dead
John wept at the foot
Of the cross with Mary –
His mother – hearts bursting
As they heard Him utter –
It is finished – He said as
He dropped His head –
Darkness fell like a shroud –
Covering His shame – really ours
Trembling – the Devil learned
That his rebellion was crushed
By Jesus –the meek and mild –
Who – by obedience – triumphed –
Trophies are we of His
Victory – His blood shed
To pay the debt we owed –
Believe – no longer dread –
Jesus arose in three days –
The Darling of Heaven’s not dead –
He sits by the Father’s side
Defending the bride He’ll wed

I’m late replying. I apologize. I trust your Easter was enjoyable. Mine was fine. I watched live steaming from my Orlando church and then the services of a church in Texas, and then Dr. Charles Stanley’s church. My hubby slept the entire morning and afternoon until 3:15 pm. He’s been sleeping too much, but there’s nothing I can do. He won’t wake up. Blessings to you, Carl…

Powerful poem…and perfect for Easter Sunday. I hadn’t thought too much about Mary’s emotions during Jesus’ crucifixion. It must have been agonizing for His earthly mother.

I didn’t expect to have time to post yesterday, but I did. Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. I’ve always looked at the crucifixion through Mary’s eyes. I’m not sure why. I have a son and a daughter, but I still don’t know why a mother’s heart draws me the way the mother of Jesus does. My heart pounds when I think of Mary standing at the foot of that cruel cross. Blessings to you, Janna…
