Thank you – Jesus – Master of the Sea

Another season of our lives – LORD –
Not one I would have chosen –
Nor would the dearest man to me –
Yet together we will sail the sea –
The sea you’ve set before us –
The sea of quiet waters that
Began with raging foam
That swept us from our comfort zone
Into our darkest night –
Faithful Jesus –
You were there for us –
Thank you – thank you –
Jesus – Master of the sea

Mark 4:35-41 – The Bible (KJV) – And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

    • I wish you were right, but any beauty of mine came from Him. If you could see me in the grip of trouble, you’d think I was a mess. Grace is my claim to sanity, beauty, hope, and the unconditional love of my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Praises to His name. He loves the unlovely and brings beauty from ashes. Blessings to you, Patricia…

Whenever there is a storm- like tornado weather type of storm- I always pray the line “peace be still”. It does bring peace to remember the word of The Lord. Blessings to you and your family Jane 🙂

    • Blessings to you, too, Te’Kia. Storms of life rage like tornadoes and hurricanes, but the Master of the wind and sea calms the storms for us when we call on Him. The winds may rage and the lightening flash, but there is peace in the midst with Jesus. Thank you for your sweet comment. “Peace be still” is a word to remember in a storm.

  5. This reminds me of the old hymn, “Master the Tempest is Raging”. I love that post and I love your poem. It’s good to remember that God is in control and he is good, even in the storms of life.

Beautiful poem, Carol. I admire your strength and faith. Your words have affected me because they make me realize that my troubles are small. With God’s help, I will come through. I’m sure I’ll still make mistakes, but those are necessary.

You’re still in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

    • Thank you, too, Carol. I appreciate your encouragement. Being moved from my comfort zone and challenged by new trials and tribulations has shone light on my many weaknesses. I have been humbled, but that ‘s not a bad thing. God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud. God is good. You are in my prayers, also. Blessings to you…

Thank you for these beautiful words of comfort. To remind us, while you are in the midst of the storm, that He brings our peace. He is truly The Prince of Peace!
May the Lord continue to guide you through these rough waters. Just as He did for Noah and his family.

    • Thank you, Tammy. Yes, I am building up the body. I’m going to have muscle and be healthier for all this labor. Work is good. My hubby is doing fine. He has his days and nights mixed up right now. I’m not sure how to turn it around. So far nothing I’ve tried has worked. Perhaps it will resolve by itself over time. I’m praying for God to turn it around. What kept me from praying immediately? Duh. I guess I had to fail first. We are so human. Blessings to you…

  13. Hi Carol, I just want to say that I am praying for you and your husband. You made a vow to love your husband in sickness and in health and God is watching as you keep that vow. I know it is hard but you have made it a labor of love. God bless you, my sister. I know God is there with you and I hope that you are able to find rest in him! I will be praying.

    • Thank you, Marianne. I appreciate your prayers. I am thankful to have my husband home, and I consider it a privilege to be the one to care for him. I pray for strong hands and shoulders. God is good. He strengthens me, and I am not having problems with muscles or tendons. I’m doing okay. One day at a time is all I need to think about. If I keep my eyes on Jesus, I won’t worry about tomorrow. Blessings to you…

    • Thank you, Elizabeth. Forgive me for being so late to answer. My hubby went back into the hospital for a short time. He’s home again, and now we are in Hospice care (not the end-of-life kind). Because we are in transition between home health care and Hospice, there are man visits to squeeze into a day along with personal care of my husband, laundry, cooking, and washing dishes. I need a clone (Just kidding). I’m doing fine. God is good. He gives strength for the day. Blessings to you…

    • Thank you, Len. I apologize for replying so late. Johannes was taken back to the hospital for a few days. He’s doing fine now and is home again. I’m going to get on top of this soon so I can blog again. I have to wait for the right time, when I have mastered this challenge. Well, ha! When God gives me the grace to walk through it, I’ll be eager to share stories of His great love. Blessings to you…
