A very encouraging scripture today, Carol. Your image is a very unusual rock formation. It would be interesting to see time-lapse photography of how it came to be. Wouldn’t it be great if there were home movies and slideshows in Heaven and we could watch history since time began?

I think we will do all that and more. Who knows. Our great almighty God may show us His mighty works in real time! We have eternity to spend doing whatever He has planned. I know we won’t be disappointed.

Few know “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” was written by Martin Luther 500 years ago

I know “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and I love it. It’s a beautiful song that is often sung in Lutheran churches. When I was a child, there was a Lutheran church across the street from my grandparent’s house. My grandmother sent my sister and I to the church. Instead of Sunday School, I would often detour to the adult service. I was quiet and was never asked to leave. That’s where I heard the song. My grandmother didn’t attend, but when we were visiting her on the weekends, the Lutheran church was part of it for us. I’ll always love that song. It is also occasionally sung by the choir in my Baptist church.

A favorite scripture. Have you ever counted how many times the word “Rock” has been used in reference to God and/or Jesus Christ in the BIble? Great metaphor of an aspect of God’s character.
You might enjoy the song, “Jesus is a Rock in a weary land.” I will send it to your e-mail if you give me your e-mail addy.

I’ve never counted how many times, but I read the Bible constantly, and the reference is all over the scriptures, especially in the Psalms. I am very familiar with “Jesus is a Rock in a Weary Land.” It’s a beautiful old hymn. My email address is carolannhoel@gmail.com. I cannot remember all of the lyrics, but I remember the tune.

I love these verses…and here it is in The Message:
30 What a God! His road

I like the reading these verses in The Message. Cool! Thanks for taking time to type it in. Others may enjoy reading it as well. I like to feel safe, too. And I do. God is so mighty, so completely strong, mightier than any adversary, Creator of the universe! We know He will keep us safe. Even in troubles, our God is in control. Even in death, we are safe in passage to Eternity Blessed where faith becomes sight at last.
