LORD – You give us hope and comfort
Trial and strength together sent
Tears blend with blood and sweat
But it’s not over yet
Some new adventure awaits us
Though it may not be much fun
There’ll be a joyful ending
When all the work is done
We can’t judge the worth of life
By our trophies or our tests
No matter how rich or poor we are –
Because the best is yet

James 1:2-4 – The Bible (KJV) – My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Romans 8:18-21 – The Bible (KJV) – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Isaiah 25:8-9 – The Bible (KJV) – He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Revelation 21:3-5 – The Bible (KJV) – And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
this is a great, beautiful truth carol. God loves us all, equally.

I remember a while back thinking you were away because I didn’t see your comments. I prayed for God to keep you safe. 🙂 I’m glad your comments are working now. I always check my spam file in case a comment is put there when it shouldn’t be. Only one time did I find your comments in it. Oh well, some mysteries are never solved. Blessings to you, Trisha…

This is a much more beautiful way to say, “you can’t take it with you when you go.” It puts everything in perspective to remember that the things in this life won’t matter.

Yes, you are right, Janna. We can’t take the stuff with us that doesn’t matter, but we will have treasure in Heaven. Everything we do for Jesus, all the praises we give Him, will be part of our treasure, which we will gladly cast at His feet.
Thank you for taking time to stop by and for your insightful comment. Blessings to you, Janna…

Beautiful Carol!
This reminds me of the song “Blessings by Lori Story”.
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It’s not our home
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the achings of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise
Thank you for sharing!

What a beautiful song! I’ve never heard it. Thank you for taking time to type the lyrics for me. I appreciate it. This is exactly the way I feel, too. God’s blessings may take us through hard places, but throughout eternity we will be talking about how he got us through it and how he brought us joy and comfort. Blessings to you, Jeanne…

Just noticed one error. The artist’s name is Laura Story not Lori Story as I typed it. It is my one of my new favorite songs.

I found the You Tube video on it using the search word Lori Story and listened to this beautiful song myself the day you left your comment. So you were close enough. 🙂

Jeanne ~~~ Thanks for taking time to post all of these words. They have been very meaningful to me in recent weeks, and I’m sure others who read them here will benefit, too. I wrote a post about this on my blog back in May and included a YouTube video of Laura Story singing this song. Some of your and Carol Ann’s readers might like to go here and listen and watch:

He won’t allow more than we can bear, just enough to burn off the flesh and reveal His glory.
