Let the Light of Your Face Shine On Us

Psalm 4:5-8 – The Bible (NIV) – Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD. Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Praise to You – Jehovah Yahweh –
I adore  You – Adonai –
You haven’t left me alone –
You – Jesus – saved my soul –
You – Jehovah Jireh – provide
Shelter from the raging storms –
You – Father – gave me a husband
Who stands by me – Thank you – LORD –
We are not hungry or thirsty –
You give us food and drink –
We are not afraid because –
El Shaddai – You surround us –
You are Almighty God – our Savior –
You heal our diseases – Yes –
Jehovah Rapha – be praised
Jehova Nissi – Your banner
Over us is love – LORD – we
Love You – the great I AM

El Shaddai is so beautiful rolling off the tongue, love that hymn! Lovely words and pic of the clouds!

    • I am trying to remember the hymn with El Shaddai. I have probably heard it. The many names of God in the Bible reveal much about the complexity and sufficiency of His being. There are many more names of God in the original language of the Bible. I used only a few of them.

Thank you for stopping by to read and comment. I appreciate you and your writing, Suzi. Blessings to you…

Are you thinking of the song by Amy Grant? Or was there another?

      • I went to Google and found El Shaddai by Amy Grant. I don’t believe I’ve heard it before, but it is a beautiful song. In my church in Orlando our pastor preached a series on the names of God. There were a couple of songs that the praise team sang during this series. I can’t remember the names, but it wasn’t this one. I love all the different names for God that each say something special about Him and His ways. El Shaddai means “God of the Mountains or Almighty God”. Blessings to you, Patti…

  2. Lovely blog you have here Carol. I’m just stopping by as you were a commentor on Carol Carvin’s blog back in May, and had such kind words to say about my debut novel Shadowed in Silk. You applauded that it spoke on the theme of spousal abuse. I’ve spoken to my publisher and we would love to send you a free Ebook copy of Shadowed in Silk. I hope that by now you have your Kindle. At the time you commented on Carol’s blog you were expecting it. If you’d like that free electronic version of Shadowed, please email me at christine (dot) d (dot) schmidtke @ gmail (dot) com
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

My daughter gave me Ann Spangler’s journal “Praying the Names of God” for Mother’s Day. It’s such a beautiful book, I’ve hesitated to sully it with my handwriting! Thanks for always sharing such timely and comforting words. Blessings to you, Carol.
