Wield the Word of God – We Win

It matters not what’s on the news
Or happens in my backyard –
I know the hand of Almighty God
Holds me safe and sound –
His plan for me
Is good –
Somehow –
I wait
To see it
Unfold

The Enemy’s band makes beastly noise –
Taunting – accusing me –
You’ve messed up God’s plan – old gal –
Withdraw – forget – you’ve been
Deep sixed – I win –
You lose –
Your
Prayers
And hopes
Have died

The fiery darts strike my heart –
So soon shot down am I –
Lift up the truth – refute the lies –
Wipe tears from eyes –
When plan A
fails –
Plan B
Prevails –
If not –
Plan C

Comes into play – God is on my side –
By grace I win again –
You fail – Evil One –
Your lies for a moment bound me –
The truth sets
Me free –
Jesus
Died
For me –
We win

My prayers and hopes God hears and holds –
Your plan lies in the dust –
Obey God’s commands you must –
You’re not free to butcher
Me – God
Reigns –
Depart
From me –
In God
I trust

Ephesians 6:10-18 – The Bible (KJV) – Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints…

Romans 8:28-31 – The Bible (KJV) – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Philippians 1:3-6 – The Bible – (KJV) – I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ…

    Beautiful–
Satan DOES NOT care what we believe, as long as it’s NOT The Truth.

And what does the truth do?
    The truth sets us free.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then and DO NOT LET YOURSELVES be burdened AGAIN by a yoke of slavery.” (emphasis mine, of course…)

    blessings, Carol Ann–

    • You are right. Satan is very happy as long as we do not believe and speak the truth. Anything else he can overpower. I generally am toppled over when first hit with lies, but not long after, I get my bearings and embrace the truth. We are to be wrapped in truth. The best way to recognize a lie is to know the truth. Even when we know the truth, we are sometimes ambushed. I look forward to the day when I always respond to attack immediately with Word of truth. For a moment or more I stand there like a dart board! Accusations put us on the defensive. Wielding the Word is offensive, and forces the Devil to retreat.

Thank you for your enthusiastic comment. Living the life is exciting, isn’t it? Blessings to you, Jane…

This IS the day the Lord has made–I will rejoice in Christ my Savior. (I always want to put the ‘u’ in from KJV–it never looks right spelled this way). Blessings to you, Carol.

    • I know what you mean about the old English spellings in KJV. I sometimes change “doth” to “does”, etc. I don’t know why I do it. I guess because I think it’s easier for people to read. Some of the spellings I change, I’ve found out are spelled that way in England. I should leave them alone.

Thank you for stopping by, Patti. It’s always a blessing to me when you visit. Thank you for your comment. Blessings to you…

    Carol Ann,
I love the boldness in your poem. You know the Truth and the evil one cannot deceive you. It is by faith we are saved, and this poem screams faith.
    Well done,
    Elizabeth

    A Blessing for you:
May the Almighty hide you in His mighty right hand and shelter you under the shadow of His wings. May He comfort you and keep you in all your ways. May He answer all your prayers and let you live to dance in the joy of their manifestation on this earth. In Jesus name, Amen!

I couldn’t leave without posting this: You are my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear!

  7. Your beautiful poetry has reminded me of the verse that I keep in mind through every difficult time:
“The Lord will work out His plans for my life.” [Ps. 138.8]

    • Thank you, Carol. I appreciate this verse! In KJV Ps. 138:8 says “The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me…”. I like the version you used. Ah! I found it. The New Living Translation. Very nice. Thank you for stopping by and for the encouraging verse. Blessings to you…

The first section holds so much meaning. “It matters not what’s on the news
Or happens in my backyard …I wait To see it Unfold” You could have stopped right there, but then it got even better!

    • Thank you, Trisha. God is good to His people. The Enemy, Satan, uses people, whom he has deceived, against believers. God loves these people and sends us to rescue them. Jesus died for all, although many will refuse the truth and die in their sins.

We are never alone in our trials. God is with us. And your comment tells it right: “Blessed is the heart that trusts truth and God.” Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the light. Blessings to you, my dear Trisha…

  12. Beautiful words Carol – as always!! Sometimes it’s hard NOT to listen to the shouting voices of the world. It’s such a shame that people who have beliefs are so often ridiculed these days, but it will all work out in the end.

Blessings to you my friend! Thanks for your recent visits to my blog – it’s always wonderful to see you xx

    • Blessings to you, too, Cloe. The disturbing voices sometimes come from within, and we must shun those also when they violate the truth of God’s Word. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comment. I enjoy your blog very much. xx00 🙂
