The Nations Need God

Dear USA: When I see our servicemen and women being mistreated by the Veterans Administration, I hang my head in shame. What has happened to our nation? Our schools and our medical systems have failed, and our nation fails to properly care for its men and women who committed their lives to defend us.

USA – We Need God

The nation that forgets God
Will abhor the consequences –
And will observe in its children
The high cost
Of arrogance –
We need God –
Without God
We stink

Let us turn from our error
And humble ourselves before God –
Let us pray and stop
Rebelling
Against God –
And God
Will bless
Our nation

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 – The Bible (KJV) – If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 – The Bible (NIV) – “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Psalm 9:17-20 – The Bible (KJV) – The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

Psalm 9:17-20 – The Bible (NIV) – The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God. But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish. Arise, LORD,

I share your frustration. Thanks for saying what needs to be said in your own wonderful, God-given style.

  3. Yesterday we had a pastor/church planter from Africa (Uganda) come and speak. He said, “You see America from the inside. You say it is evil. But we see it from the outside. When we receive help from America we say ‘God bless America.'” He said that when they (the Ugandan believers) pray for America they pray from the positive side. They see what God can do, instead of like us, when God is not in America. It was an encouragement.

    • I believe the USA is still largely populated by Christians. Many have lost their way and don’t know how to get back. The sincere, loving prayers of the Ugandan believers may touch the heart of God more than we know. I look for a revived spirit of love for God in our country. If we have it, I think it will come by prayer, both of our own people and intercessory prayers of other nations who have experienced mercy and grace from this nation and love us for it. God is good. Even in these last days, however long they may last, God is good.

Thank you for sharing this information. It has encouraged me, also. Blessings to you, Jessie…

    • Blessings to you, also, Te’Kia. God bless America. We must make that our sincerest prayer. Without the blessings of God, where would we be? Instead of mercy drops falling around us, for the showers we must plead. Thank you for stopping by and for your encouraging comment. Blessings to you…

    • Thank you, Jane. We join with you and others in praying for mercy and grace to fall abundantly instead of torrents of rain and windstorm sent to us by the enemy. May God reach down and heal our land. Blessings to you…

Carol Ann, I know what you mean when you talk about the VA letting down our Veterans. Most here in South Texas have been fighting for a VA hospital here in their own neck of the woods for years. They have had to travel to San Antonio for years for treatment. The long hours spent in uncomfortable travel plus all the added expense-It’s just not right. That hospital should have been built and opened decades ago.

I agree with your message. Our country needs help and God certainly has the power to do it. If God were allowed into the daily decisions we make, things would be better.

This is what came to mind when I read your post:
    2 Chronicles 7:14
IF MY PEOPLE who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
    I know I don’t pray that often enough…

    • I don’t pray it often enough either, but I’m making an effort to pray earnestly everyday for our nation and people to return to faith in God. Thank you for your visit and your comment. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is one of my favorite verses. Blessings to you, Patti…

Wonderful post. USA needs prayers. So does a lot of other countries. But with great power comes great responsibilities, so we must pray lots more for the USA. Let’s also pray more for the leaders of the country.
