Troubles come suddenly but
LORD – You know it first –
You delivered me
From death –
Deliver me
From falling
Because I
Trust You
Why should I fail You – LORD –
Why should anxiety defeat me –
You cause my feet to
Stand – You
Make my
Adversary slip –
My Spirit
Praises You

Same verses in KJV-King James Version, NIV-New International Version (translations), and The Message (Paraphrase)
Philippians 4:6-7 – The Bible (KVJ) – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 – The Bible – (NIV) – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 – The Bible (The Message) – Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Psalm 56:8-13 – The Bible (KJV) – Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
Psalm 56:8-13 – The Bible (NIV) – Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll— are they not in your record? Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise — in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to you, my God; I will present my thank offerings to you. For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
Psalm 56:8-13 – The Bible (The Message) – You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book. If my enemies run away, turn tail when I yell at them, then I’ll know that God is on my side. I’m proud to praise God, proud to praise God. Fearless now, I trust in God; what can mere mortals do to me? God, you did everything you promised, and I’m thanking you with all my heart. You pulled me from the brink of death, my feet from the cliff-edge of doom. Now I stroll at leisure with God in the sunlit fields of life.
Just what I needed 🙂 Thanks for sharing Carol. Be blessed!

This reminds me of a comment Marilla makes on Anne of Green Gables. She says, “To despair is to turn your back on God.”

Yes, it is true, isn’t it? Our despair is pretty much proof that we think we’ve been forsaken, and we will never be forsaken by our God. Blessings to you…

Carol Ann–
Look at you with your “The Message” translation! I have been enjoying reading both The Message and my NIV bible, side by side.
God sets our feet upon the Rock…we can stand firm in Him.
He hides us in the cleft of the Rock. We are safe in Him.

Thanks for stopping by, Jane. I put The Message paraphrase along with KJV and NIV after seeing your interest in it. I think others may benefit from reading more than one translation and even the paraphrase. I haven’t decided if I’ll do that every time since it makes my post so much longer. Thank you for your comment. Blessings to you, Jane…

Yes. Why do we fret? When we fear, we need to stop and ask ourselves that question. Then we will cast off fear and trust in God. Blessings to you, Trisha…
