Thank You LORD for Meaningful Lives

Thank you LORD for meaningful lives
Thank you for the battles You win –
For including us in Your strategy –
For letting us
Hear you say –
Well done –
One day

Thank you LORD for Your special training

Though we may never graduate
Or never receive a degree – we see
You mentor us on
How to stand in
Your war
For souls

The Enemy hates us and You – but You
Are mightier than he can ever be
We thank you for equipping us to stand
In Your strength
Armor clad
Wielding the sword –
Your Word

Jehovah Nissi You amaze us –

You win soldiers from enemy ranks –
Joyfully they join You – offering thanks –
Donning Your armor –
They stand
Against evil
With You

Freed from slavery – washed from sin –
Your new recruits sing praises to You –
Yes, the Enemy is weakened again –
You taken no prisoners –
It’s the faithful
Standing firm in
Your strength

Thank You LORD for the battles You win –

For giving to us – the weak – Your might –
Because You conquer and rule – we live
To serve You
Eternally –
Life without
End – Amen

Ephesians 6:10-18 – The Bible (KJV) – Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints…

2 Timothy 2:3-4 – The Bible (KJV) -Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

1 Peter 5:8-9 – The Bible (KJV) – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Each day is a battle, of sorts. I like the image of His Word as a sword – nice weapon to have in faithful combat 🙂

In our weakness, He shows Himself strong. That was part of the sermon this past Sunday. Along with running the race before us, and picking ourselves up when we’ve been knocked down. I liked the line, “You win soldiers from enemy ranks.” Yes, there is hope for our enemies, even; and grace at the foot of the cross.

    • Thank you for your comment and for taking time to stop by, Patti. I appreciate you very much. I am weak and I know it. When I think I’m strong, all it takes is a little holy illumination for me to realize how fragile is my faith. He, on the other hand, is strong and faithful and able to carry me through, despite my frailty. I admire your strength. Blessings to you…

What a beautiful testament to our daily struggle, as well as the reminder we can do all things through Him. The one and only True Promise we can always bank on. Blessings to you, dear friend.

    • Blessings to you, as well, Bonnie. Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comment. The daily struggle, yes, we experience challenges constantly. Our spiritual muscle is being exercise daily, so when the big storm hits, we are prepared for the battle. We don’t have to enlist. We’ve been drafted. Yet, the reward is worthy. Worthy is the Lamb of God.

Beautiful–we may never “win” the race we thought we were running…but as long as we are racing after God, that’s the only race we ever need!

I have been reading and re-reading that passage in Ephesians, lately…

choosing, with each breath, not to believe the deceiver’s lies any longer.

what freedom in turning to Truth.

the path is so clear, so free of weeds and death.
    blessings

    • You state it beautifully, Jane. The depth of emotion you speak lifts my spirit. “The path is so clear, so free of weeds and death.” – Thank you for sharing this dazzling phrase. You have spoken the excitement I feel in being privileged to walk with God through the wilderness. The path, with His light shining on it, is just as you describe. Always the Liar tries to make us resent the slightest trial, to feel alienated from God, to feel condemned, unwanted. Like you, I choose to cast off His lies and believe the truth. We are the redeemed of God. We win this war because of Jesus. Blessings to you…

Just this morning I heard someone on christian radio talking about the sword of truth. He said that it is not just one sword but a whole arsenol. We should be looking in God’s word for an individual word of truth for fighting the enemy in areas that we struggle.
