Show Me Your Ways LORD

Psalm 25:4-14 – The Bible (KJV) – Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

A song that is also a prayer is music to the soul, glory to God,
    and a blessing forever.

    • Thank you for your visit, Len, gloryteller. I appreciate your taking time to stop by. I love this psalm, too. I cry out to the LORD to show me His ways and how to walk in them. Thank you for your comment. Blessings to you…

  2. Many times I am just helpless as to what to do or which way to go. I am not an indecisive person but all of us get overwhelmed. Quite often after a simple prayer the way magically appears.

    • Thank you, Carl. I’m always looking for His guidance. His ways are always better than mine. This morning I had a problem. I prayed asking the LORD to fix it. I even threw in my idea how it should turn out. Sure enough, the LORD solved it, but not as I thought. He did it in a way that was ten times better than my expectation! I agree exactly with what you said in your comment: a simple prayer and the way magically (divinely) appears. Blessings to you, Carl…

His ways aren’t our ways, nor are His thoughts our thoughts. Don’t you love the creative ways He solves things? How many times have we said, “I’d never thought of that!” Beyond anything we can imagine, yes, that is He.

      • Yes, I love it! I was so much better off because I had my problem. Not only did He solved it completely in an unexpected way, but there was a hidden blessing in it for me.

My favorite part of this passage is “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.” This sticks out for me because I remember a church service many years ago when the pastor talked about some of the negative connotations associated with the word “meek”. He assured the congregation that meek did not mean weak (nobody likes to be thought of as ‘weak’.) Humble? Most people can accept that.

    • I love that portion, too. I need to be taught. I don’t figure things out by myself very well. And when God shows me something in the Bible that I didn’t notice before, I get excited.

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. Blessings to you, Janna.

Oh, that my path would be as apparent as the one in the picture instead of the jungle I see before me trying to cut my way out of a jungle.

    • Yes, I agree that sometimes the path is covered in vines and thistles. Sometimes we must take one step at a time as God clears the way. Sometimes we must hunker down and wait for his leading.
