Our God Reigns on High

Our God reigns on high
He rules the earth and sky
His enemies would cast Him
Down to elevate themselves

Prideful thoughts hold them

Captive – Death and hell
Await them – Yet they
Dance on by like zombies

Come along with me
They sing – Why not be free
From your mother’s rule –
Your father’s God forget

Look inside yourself
Power lies within – they say
Be one with the universe
Reject all thought of Deity

Fools say in their hearts
There is no God – No God
Who can stop them in their
Tracks – they won’t turn back

Our God reigns on high
He rules the earth and sky
He laughs at their frivolity
He knows their fear will come

Fear will come on those
Opposing truth – God will
Laugh when they cry out
He won’t be there for them

Wisdom calls them but their
Ears are shut – their foolish
Hearts are dark – Children –
Run from them to Jesus

Lamb of God – Savior LORD
Who spoke the universe into
Existence – who named the stars
Who died and rose for us

Run to Him and worship
Don’t listen to foolish talk
The children of God are blessed
Forever with God to walk

Psalm 14:1-3 – The Bible (KJV) – The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 1:16-23 – The Bible (KJV) – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has shown it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

Proverbs 1:20-33 – The Bible (KJV) – Wisdom cries without; she utters her voice in the streets: She cries in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she utters her words, saying, how long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; but ye have set at naught all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; when your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkens unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

This is probably a sign that I need to get some sleep, but this poem made me think of the Three Little Pigs. The brother who built his house of bricks is like a believer, and the two brothers who rushed through building a house so they could have fun are like the people who don’t believe in God.

The two brothers were sorry they focused so much on having fun when the wolf blew their houses down (just like those who shun God will be sorry on Judgment Day.) And the pig who built the brick house was safe (his brick house was like the protection of God.) I guess this means the big, bad wolf would be the devil?

Wisdom calls. The fool says there is no God, thinking himself wise. He doesn’t recognize the voice of God. So sad. Lord, open their ears to hear, that they not be lost forever.

    • I agree with your prayer and am praying specifically for people I care about that are not only failing to believe for themselves, but are adamant in their position and working to persuade others to believe a gospel that leaves out the blood-bought redemption through Christ. My heart cries out to God for them to be saved. That extra step toward unbelief, persuading others in their error, scares me for their sake. May God extend His grace and show His mighty power in their behalf. Blessings to you, Patti…

I surely like this BRITE! How do you do this consistently day after day? You keep it so scripturally based! Excellent work!
Aha! It is the anointing of grace.
The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 1Corinthians 1:18
