Tribulation Saints

As in the day when Jesus
Walked the sands of the
Holy Land

When He sent his disciples

To spread the gospel –
So the days

Will come when those
Same words sustain the
The Tribulation saints

Don’t be afraid of
Men – He said –
Speak up and say –

What you hear in

The dark – say
In the day

Don’t be afraid
Of them – they’re
Powerless

Be afraid of
God not men –
God reigns

Not one sparrow

Falls alone –
God knows

Even your hairs
Are numbered
Fear not

You are worth
Many sparrows
To God

Matthew 10:26-31 – The Bible (NIV) – So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Revelations 14:1 – The Bible (NIV) – Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

Revelations 14:6-13 – The Bible (NIV) – Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

A second angel followed and said, “‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,’which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”

A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”

“Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.

    • It brings me comfort as well. I hope it will bring comfort to the Tribulation saints. Many of them will be martyred for their faith, and greatly rewarded by God. My heart goes out to them. I’m thankful to live during the Age of Grace. Blessings to you, Carl…

I’ve had these same scripture on my mind so much lately, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.” Thank you for such a beautiful reminder.

    • Yes, Trisha, it is a very soothing truth. I appreciate your visit and your comment. The power of our enemy is far less than God’s power. For one’s power to be less than that of an enemy is the same as having no power at all. Less power is no power. God wins with His unlimited and awesome power over all. And God watches over us all the time. Blessings to you, Trisha…

    Carol Ann-
can you share how you get this Divine poetry?

Does it come from reading…or does the poem happen first…then the Bible verses come to you?

I would love to know how God has gifted you to write…

blessings, dear friend, and may your Easter weekend be truly renewing.

    • Thank you for your sweet blessings. I need renewal. Thank you for your visit and your kind comment. I’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I ask the LORD to help me find words and show me what to write about. When I get stuck, I tell Him I’m stuck, and I ask for help. If I like the verse when it’s finished, I always thank Him. If I write one that I don’t like, I trash it and thank Him for the next one He plans to help me with.

I wrote this particular poem after reading the scripture in Matthew 10. It was directly spoken by Jesus to His disciples when He sent them out, but I noticed how suitable it is for the Tribulation believers, who will be trying to survive. We will be gone, but our blogs may be around for a while to bring them comfort. I’ve started praying for these people, who will new believers in a dangerous world.

Most of the time I write the verse first and then search for the scriptures. The words usually don’t take as long as finding, copying, and pasting the scriptures. Finding the photos takes a good while, too.

My life didn’t happen as poetically as I’d hoped it would. In fact, it was more like an amusement park experience gone wrong. Thinking about it, I imagined hearing the LORD ask me how I liked the ride. God has a sense of humor. He waits for the right moment to make me laugh, and I think he laughs with me.

When I’m not laughing, when I cry, when I realize how much my human nature caused a lot of my troubles, He comforts me and lift my spirits. His faithfulness is my inspiration. Jesus is my gift, and His everlasting kindness pours out of my heart. Blessings to you, Jane…
