Weary at the end of day
Thoughts slow down
And shoulders ache
Let down my hair
Fluff my pillow
Close my eyes
And pray
LORD thank you for today
And for tomorrow

Psalm 127:1-2 – The Bible – Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he gives his beloved sleep.
Psalm 55:22 – The Bible – Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Matthew 11:28-30 – The Bible – Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I feel like that little bear after a full day of teaching. I’m tired and barely hanging 0n.

I did 34 years Miami Dade 11th grade Am Hist. Inner city, drug, crime, low income, minority, dysfunctional families. Hang in there. Depending what your state’s retirement protocol is, I think more than 20 years is way beyond burnout time. Perhaps have alternatives prepared after 20. Teaching is a lay ministry and part of the Lord’s work as well as a life well spent.

I think all of us can identify with that bone-tired feeling. Isn’t it amazing how a night of rest can make such a difference in how we feel? I’m glad I don’t have to sleep in a tree, though!
