Seed Time and Harvest – Day and Night

Fresh green buds sprout everywhere
Rays of sunshine fill the air
New flower beds pop up
Here and there
Tree limbs
Clad in
Shades of
Emerald
Sway in
The wind

No matter that the earth recoils
From warfare and disaster
Sun shines and rain falls
On thirsty land
Like clockwork
To bless
The earth
Again
In living
Color

We have God’s promise made to Noah
And to each generation after
While earth remains
Seed time and harvest
Summer
Winter
Day and
Night
Shall not
Cease

Genesis 8:22 – The Bible – While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Genesis 9:12-17 – The Bible –  And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Lord, prepare the soil of our hearts to receive your refreshing, and prepare the hearts that do not know you, make them ready to receive the seed you would plant.
Thank you for the lovely words, Carol, and the reminder that He is faithful, like clockwork. Have a blessed day.

    • I’m looking outside my window at the trees that I feared were not going to bud. They are bright green and lush with young leaves. Yesterday I went outside in the morning and listened to the birds chirping in the trees. Sweet melody of spring. Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. I, too, am thankful for the promises of God. Blessings to you, Jane…

Beautiful poem. I’m also glad that God keeps his promises, and that spring comes with new growth and hope after the cold of winter.

    • Thank you for stopping by, Janna, and for your kind comment. I love the promises of God. Some are conditional, some are absolute, and all of them God keeps faithfully. We can depend on God. Springtime and harvest are reminders of this truth. Blessings to you…
