Father You Knew You Knew

Father from the beginning
You knew how you would save us
Yourself – by Your own hand – yes
By sacrifice of Your own Son
Your beloved Son Jesus Christ
Shedding His innocent blood
His holy blood for us
Sinners reckless unclean

Father You knew You knew
How ungrateful would be man
Yet on You went with Your plan
To save unappreciative man
For the few You knew would heed
For the few who’d see their need
You paid it all – the whole cost –
So the few would not be lost

Praise Your Holy Name…

John 1:10-12 – The Bible – He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…

Acts 4:11-12 – The Bible – This (Jesus Christ whom you crucified) is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (parenthetic italics added)

Ephesians 2:8-10 – The Bible – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Matthew 7:13-14 – The Bible – Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

John 14:6 – The Bible – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Lord, thank You for Your word that will not return to You void, but will accomplish the work it was sent forth to do; and thank You for Carol, who so faithfully plants the seeds that You have given her. Please let me help her bestow her crown at your feet on that glorious day, because I know she won’t be able to lift it all by herself!

    • Aw, you are so sweet. Whatever crowns He gives us, we will cast as His feet. Without Him, we could do nothing. Your comments add strength to my witness and that of others that leave their words here, too. Together we bear more credibility, more strength, more anointing. Thank you for being the sweet witness for Jesus that you are. Blessings, Patti…

this is why i can never imagine God as punisher- to me God is love, no one loves us as much as God does, as unconditionally and unselfishly as God does.

    • I have to tell you the truth, and I think you will understand. God punishes those who turn down his offer of forgiveness. If you look at it from the Father’s point of view, I think you’ll see it. God is holy and without sin and cannot tolerate even looking at sin, yet, He loves us. God allowed his perfect, righteous, holy Son to be born into the world so that He could live among us and die a death bearing God’s holy, unmitigated wrath against sinners, being separated during his dying from His Father. Jesus suffered willingly, alone, and enough to pay for all the sins of the entire world. All a sinner must do is believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died for him or her, that His sacrifice and His sacrifice alone satisfies Holy God’s wrath against sin, and receive Jesus, by faith, as Savior and Lord. Turn down this sweet gesture of love from God to a sinner, and there is no hope of salvation. Eternal punishment for one’s own sins awaits. God’s great love is equaled only by His great wrath. Receive His love gift, Jesus, and forever a sinner is transformed, assured forgiveness for all sin, past, present, and future, and will never be punished for sin. Chastised, disciplined, corrected, whatever word we choose, yes, but never punished, and always His child, protected under His wing forever. God loves us. He gave us Jesus to prove it. He will not tolerate those who refuse Jesus while living on this earth. The door is open until we close it ourselves or die. Blessings to you, always, and may you grasp and believe how much God loves you, enough to keep you safe forever, to love you forever, to make you His own.
