Where is the Promise of His Coming

This world has never seen days like this
I say as I contemplate the world situation
So much there is that points to Your coming
In the clouds to save us from the wrath to come

Yet looking back I see other times
When men have sought to rule the globe
This vain pursuit has oft’ emerged
Did believers expect the age to end

Perhaps they did but we’re all still here
Waiting and watching signs of the times
There’s nothing preventing your imminent return
Not then and not now but you waited longer

A day with You LORD is as a thousand years
And a thousand years is as only one day
You’re not slack concerning your promise
But You wait for the early and latter rain

Your Beloved waits for You to come
Lamps trimmed and vessels filled with oil
You won’t be long – You’re never late
Whether sooner or later You love us

1 Peter 3:8-9 – The Bible – But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. James 5:7-8 – The Bible – Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
