To Souls Longing for a Savior

To one who cannot find his way
I say look at the stars how they shine
Look at the sun and the moon
They have a master
Who keeps them tuned

To one who cannot find the truth
I say only truth makes perfect sense
Consider lies how they shrivel and die
Their evil author
Cannot sustain them

To those who look within themselves
To find what they’re looking for
Consider how weak and tired you are
From where would you draw
The strength you need

To the souls that long for a Savior bold
There is Creator God to have and hold
Look – the Lamb slain for you
Who rules the wind and sea
Cares for you and me

Genesis 1:1-3The Bible – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Jeremiah 29:11:13 – The Bible – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

John 8:31-32 – The Bible – Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

  5. This is a really comforting poem, Carol Ann. And these verses are some of my favorites–especially Jeremiah 29:11, which I’m more familiar with in the NIV version but sounds lovely the way it’s written here.

    • I, too, have heard this verse in another version, where in the end it calls expected end hope. In any version, it’s a verse that blesses the heart. Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. Blessings to you and a delightful weekend…
