The Journey with You LORD

The seasons of my life
Looking back I see
Looking forward
They made no sense
To me

The seasons of my life

So painfully spent
Pleasures mingled with
Years of distress
Changed me

You gave me freedom
To make choices I regret
Looking back I see
You were teaching
Me

The seasons of my life
You planned for me
Some seasons I
Still don’t appreciate
Really

Trials and tribulations
Drove me closer to you
Cleared my vision and
Enriched my love
For you

The seasons of my life
That lie ahead of me
I’ll walk holding your hand
Knowing faithful and true
Are you

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – The Bible -To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Psalm 30:4-5 – The Bible – Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

this poem says my heart and clarifies some of my confusions. God lets us make our own choice when we take the wrong one he stays with us to see us through.

    lots of love.

When I read this it made me think of that passage that says- “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Not sure of the specific passage but that’s what I thought about. Anyway, a wonderful post about the ups and downs of life. Blessings Carol 🙂

I love your honesty with God in lines like “some seasons I still don’t appreciate really.”

    • Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. I know God knows my thoughts before I think them, so there is no reason not to be candid. There are many things about my past I don’t understand, but I realize over the years God has revealed to me things that I didn’t see earlier.

Some seasons in life are more difficult than others because of my preconceived ideas of what they would be like. The trouble for me is remaining faithful during those times and relying on God’s knowledge of the path he is leading me on. I always want to know ahead of time what to expect and plan for. Blessings on your weekend and thank you for sharing your words this morning. Jeanne

    • Thank you for visiting, Jeanne, and for your comment. I think most of us go through seasons expecting life to be easy, and when it’s hard, we think something must be wrong. We like to feel we are in control, and feeling otherwise is hard on us. I am no different. I prefer comfort. Blessings to you, Jeanne…

But of course, I love this Bible verse. But of course, I think you already know this. 🙂

Beautiful. I love Ecc.3:1-8. I love that even when we make the wrong choices, He will be with us as we pass through the water or the fire (Isaiah).

  7. Excellent. Among other things, just a fine illustration of the human condition. Well done, Carol.
