Mom

Mom
How I miss you
You’ve been gone a long
Long time
Yet never will I forget you
Or the love
For me
You showed
The way you forgave my defiance
You know
When I was thirteen
Or was I twelve
Maybe I was five
Oh I remember
I was sixteen
Do you remember
If I’d known
I’d have to live
Without you
So many years of my life
I’d have hugged you
More often
I’d have told you
I loved you too
More often
See you later
Mom
I’m coming where you are
As soon as I have finished
What I was sent here to do
Love you…

I have the same regrets about my dad. If I could turn back the clock I think I would have hugged and kissed him a dozen times every day.

a beautiful poem from an adorable daughter to mother. love envelops it like fragrance envelops a rose.

    lots of love.

    • Thank you for stopping by, Trisha, and for your kind words. I understand how you feel about your dad. We have our parents and never think of someday not having them, and then one day it happens. My mother was only 46 years old when she died of cancer.

    • Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment, Polly. I was 27 years old when she died at the age of 46. She was only 18 years old when I was born. Thank you for the encouraging words. I’d have certainly leaned on her for many more years and I miss her still, and I’m in the senior age bracket now. I peeked at your blog. It’s very nice! Blessings to you…

Such heartfelt sweet words in tribute to your mother…I know she is watching over you. This poem reminded me of one of my favourite songs called “Mama” by Il Divo….if you have the time, it’s definately worth watching 😀

    • Thank you for the link, Chloe. It worked and I listened and watched. It brought tears both because of my mother and because I am a mother, too. My mom was a sweetheart of a mom. Everyone loved her. She had a kind heart. Thank you for your visit and your comment and the link. I’m glad you are well again. Flu is not nice to endure. Blessings to you..
