Path. A track that has been worn by the continual passage of feet. A course. A course of action. A path that leads somewhere, either to a place that many have gone before, or a direction toward an expected destination, or a way of living. Of all the definitions, the first one, a track created by many passers over, may be the most dangerous upon which to rely. We tend to believe that the presence of many travelers indicates safe passage. Following a crowd may seem trustworthy and dependable but, in fact, pursuing such a path may take us where we do not wish to go.
Proverbs 14:12 says “There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way that leads to death.” Proverbs is a book in the Bible that teaches wisdom. This is just one admonition recorded in this enlightening book.

Carol Ann–so true–up there with “well, if all your friends jumped off a bridge…”
I think it also depends on who we’re following…
if the the leader is Jesus…well, that’s the path I’ll take every time, well trodden or not…
