This Man

This man is
Passionate determined
Persuasive and bold
Intuitive dynamic
Handsome and strong
Heroes are made of such grit
And such bone
He’s traveled harsh road
Bearing his load
Of regret disappointment
Sorrow and pain
He’s often fallen
But never stayed down
This man gets up
He reaches for stars
He dangles from rainbows
Striving for treasure for
Some pot of gold yet
He gives his last dollar
To a man in the cold
When he gets
Where he’s going
When he gets there
Someday
In his Father’s house
He’ll remain
No wandering again

Psalms 84:10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
